The client brief was simple - to retain all original features of this stunning, yet neglected, Georgian townhouse, whilst introducing striking minimalist elements where possible.
The cornices were restored, original fireplaces returned to their former glory and dilapidated central staircase refurbished. A statement bespoke kitchen was designed with polished concrete island unit and integrated storage running the full length of one wall concealed behind floor to ceiling panels.
In the bathroom the ceiling was raised, and a lightwell created over the shower area.
Simple materials and careful detailing successfully married old and new.
