"Good design is defined not only by look and feel, but also by function. Design can, and should, be both beautiful and practical. Most importantly it should be a true reflection of the aspirations of the person or brand it has been created for."
Jaki was educated in several European countries, where she became fluent in various languages before returning to London in 1998, to study Interior Architecture.
She gained significant experience at leading consultancies Johnson Naylor and Imagination, working on a diverse range of projects including premium residential schemes across the capital and 5 years as senior creative for Aston Martin Retail - designing new buildings and flagship stores worldwide for the premium marque.
In 2009 Jaki left Imagination to focus on the growing workload of Amos and Amos, and realise her dream of joining husband Darryl in running their own practice.
"Craftsmanship is essential in creating timeless design - authentic materials and immaculate detailing are as important as spatial relationships. A space is only complete when it feels as good as it looks."
Originally trained as an expert joiner, working with acclaimed architect John Pawson, Darryl made the decision to retrain as an interior architect and graduated from Brighton University in 1991. He has spent the last 21 years creating luxury environments for both private and commercial clients, including retail schemes for high profile brands such as Volkswagen and Yves Saint Laurent.
In 2003 he set up Darryl Amos Ltd, focussing on high end residential and retail projects, as well as taking on consultancy roles within various London practices.
In 2008 Darryl and Jaki tied the knot, and Darryl Amos Ltd proudly became Amos and Amos.
